The Water Treadmill
In addition or as an alternative to the pool, we can also incorporate the water treadmill or
walker into the treatment programme.  This invaluable piece of specialist equipment allows
the dogs movements to be observed from all angles whilst it progresses through its controlled
exercise programme.  Ideal for dogs who don't particularly like swimming.

The Pool (controlled current)
It exercises every muscle of the body and gives the dog a complete workout without risk of injury.
The pool has swim jets which allow your dog to swim against a controlled current for a set
amount of time, helping them to get the most out of their session.
Some dogs will benefit from being lifted into and out of the pool using the power hoist.
Before getting in the pool or treadmill dogs will be given a nice warm shower, this will help to warm up and relax
the muscles prior to exercise.  Afterwards, they will have another shower, shampoo (optional extra) and towel dry.

The first session will be  spent getting to know your dog  and allowing them to familiarise
themselves with their new surroundings, at this time we also devise an individual programme to
suit your dogs requirements.  This will depend on what you want your dog to achieve.  You may
be surprised, initially, by the short time your dog is actually in the pool.  Dogs use a lot of energy
when swimming.  If they are unwell, unfit or overweight it is important to increase the time in the
water gradually.
